Live Music line up for ED’s Cycle Festival

ED’s Cycle Co-op and Melrose Music have teamed up to provide an inspired range of live music to accompany all the cycling activities at ED’s Cycle Fair, this Sunday 16th Jun. from 11am to 5pm. Commonwealth Medallist, James McCullum opens ED’s Cycle Festival  Commonwealth Games medalist, James McCullum, will open ED’s Cycle Festival on Sun 16th Jun, Bishopbriggs.  James competed in three Commonwealth Games, Manchester (02) Melborne (06) winning a bronze medal and Delhi (10), so he is familiar with competition at the highest level and now inspires children across the country with Champions in Schools. £6M boost for cycle infrastructure…..and a bike rack at ASDA

  “As the Scottish Government announced £6M boost to cycling paths in Scotland, I’m delighted to say that ASDA has also fitted bike racks to accommodate the increased number of people on bikes in Bishopbriggs”, said local Bishopbriggs Cllr Anne McNair and co-director of ED’s Cycle Co-op Fiona McLeod MSP for Strathkelvin & Bearsden commented that:

Active Travel Active Scotland is the latest publication from the Scottish sustainable transport thinktank, Transform Scotland, which features the work of ED’s Cycle Co-op in the chapter entitled, Learning from the best, Scottish success… Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire has seen a significant growth in cycling as a result of various cycling activities and promotional events, which has been coordinated by a not for profit community social enterprise, ED’s Cycle Co-op.

Bishopbriggs bikers head to Westminster

Wester Cleddens pupils invited guest to Westminster reception.   Local cycling enthusiasts Calum Aitken (9) and Kieran Ballard (9) from Wester Cleddens Primary School were invited to Westminster, London on Monday 14th May, in recognition of their continued efforts to travel sustainably to school, as guests of ED’s Cycle Co-op.
